Today in class we continued to read chapter one of Upton Sinclair's The Jungle. Some of your classmates said that:
They thought Sinclair was too wordy. They didn't understand all the sentences, but they thought the book could be good later. They thought that Jurgis and Ona would die at the end of the book and get put into the hamburger. They thought it was a gory book, but nothing bad happened yet. They are still waiting for the gross part. They couldn't imagine a world with so little music. They thought Tamoszius Kuszleika was a little wild. They wanted to hear from Upton Sinclair that Jurgis and Ona were in love; so far, they only heard it from me.
