Today you got back your quiz grades for yesterday's quiz on Poetry Terms and Writing Philosophies (isms). When I was grading them, I realized that some of you need to learn to STUDY the material before a quiz. Suggestions for a good (but short) study session:
**Go to a place where people are not going to bother you. **Turn off the sounds around you the best you can. (Maybe this involves closing a door or turning off the iPod.) **Copy the information onto note cards can help because the info is going into your brain while you're writing. **Find little memory helps that make sense to you when you try to recall the information. **Ask someone to quiz you on the information. **If there is a particular teacher who seems to explain concepts to you better, ask that teacher for study suggestions. We also took more notes today. Check out the SHORT STORY page (above) for a copy of the PowerPoint from class. Have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow! -Miss White
