I first discovered that I love to teach when my mom brought me in to "help" with her Sunday school class. I was probably seven or eight. When my cousins and I played school in Grandma and Grandpa's basement, I was the teacher. And when my guidance counselor asked what I wanted to do with my life, teaching was the most obvious answer. It has been and continues to be one of my great loves.
If you are a parent who is visiting my site, thank you for your participation in your child's life. You know the importance of taking time to listen to your teen today - you are probably amazed at what you hear. In my experience teens are never boring, are mostly sincere about moving toward their goals, and are searching for new and exciting adventures in their lives. Talk to them and listen to them when they have something to say.
If you are a student taking one of my classes (which is the most likely reason you are on this site) feel free to see me about questions, thoughts, ideas, etc. - even if they don't have anything to do with English class. I will make time for you.
