Yesterday we looked at some powerful word choices in chapter 7 of The Jungle. You found words that demonstrated Upton Sinclair's desire to give us a deeper understanding of:
**hope **love **despair **irritation **protection **fear **terror **worry **happiness **anxiety **depression **wonder Your homework (due today) was to think of an experience that you are deeply familiar with that fits into one of the categories above. Write a page or so letting me know more of that emotion because of your experience. Click here to get the worksheet that will help you. TODAY we read chapter 8 in class. Our homework is to read chapter 9 and find THREE sentences that are amazing because of their sentence structure. (Sentence structure is the way that the words are ordered to give the sentence a new twist, like the brush strokes do when we use them.) Have a great day!! -Mrs. Coller
