I am sick today, so I won't be in. I have instructed the sub to allow 20 minutes for you to revise your group writing, but then I want you to read silently up through the end of chapter 10.
Thanks. Have a good day. I will see you tomorrow. -Mrs. Coller

Then we are moving on to more of the text! Yay!! -Mrs. Coller Be sure to update your homework assignment if you didn't fully read the directions. (Should someone let people know via FB so that they don't get ZEROs??)

You have a homework assignment due Friday at midnight: comment on this blog. (Hey. I used a colon in a sentence!!) Mention: **A person/group mentioned in the news this week that has had to "survive" **How they worked toward survival (2 details minimum) **Where you found this information (CREDIBLE SOURCE PLEASE) -Mrs. Coller Today in class we will discuss the stressors that they characters in the text may have experienced during chapters 1-5 of Lost in Shangri-la by Mitchell Zuckoff.
AND... Mrs. Klucznik found an AWESOME grammar game that has to do with NINJAS!!! I will post it on the Grammar section of this website. Have fun! I know I did! - Today we read quietly in class. I explained that it is important to interact with a text while you read, so I have given you a worksheet that will help you focus on specifics in the text.
Click here for a copy of the day's worksheet (due Monday). Please read the directions and answer the question as fully as possible. You may want to look up the definition of "stress". Have a great weekend. Eat healthy and take care of yourselves; so many people are getting sick these days. -Mrs. Coller What an amazing intro!! During this book, you need to:
I am glad you like the book!!! I think you'll enjoy reading this NON_FICTION piece of literature. I say it surpasses Lord of the Flies by miles. My challenge to you is to get LOTF out of the LMC and read it yourself to compare. (It is very short, so you shouldn't have a problem with it.) Today will consist of:
*Grammar questions - Multiple Choice *A reading *Reading Comprehension Questions - Multiple Choice *Short Answer (full explanations needed) In case you didn't read it before, all your exams should be pushed off one day. Wednesday: Math, Art Thursday: Math, Electronics, Transportation, Technical Drawing, Art Friday: Science, Health, World Language, Career Management, Economics, Technical Drawing Monday: Science, Health, World Language, Career Management, Economics Once we finish with the mid-term, we will be reading a new book! Yay!! (It's a really great one, and it is non-fiction!) Start thinking about what it would be like to be trapped in jungle island with no way to get out. If you happen on this blog, do me a favor and tell me what you would name your island.
I might name mine something like "Nobodeeshere" or "Findus" What would you do to survive on this island? What food would you look for? What rules would you establish for yourselves and others? -Mrs. Coller |
