Hello. This is an old blog that I used to use for homework and class reminders. Now that technology has bumped it up a notch, I use the REMIND app for class announcements and Google Classroom for assignments that are online. Click on the links for more information, and be sure to ask me about passwords and login procedures when you see me in class.
Have a great year! As always, feel free to come see me if you need help or just want to chat. -Mrs. Coller

Hello, Folks.
We have begun to read the AMAZINGLY funny Taming of the Shrew in class, and I am very proud of the way that you all are getting into it. As you have noticed, Shakespeare utilizes multiple allusions to various gods, goddesses, and otherwise interesting historical figures. You may have also noticed that Shakespeare's works are alluded to often, even in our own modern media. Today in class we will look for modern allusions and share them with each other. From there, we will annotate Peggy Lee's "Fever" to get an idea of the significance of Shakespeare in the scope of our own time period. For your homework, you will be required to create your own allusion. Click here to open a PDF of your homework, which is due IN CLASS on DECEMBER 19, 2014. Have a great day! -Mrs. Coller In class today, we will be using the assignment located on the flipside of the CONVENTIONS rubric in your three-ring binder. In class today, we took five minutes to brainstorm about the finer points of this discussion. Then I assigned partners. Get ready for an intelligent discussion later this week!
Click here for the assignment. Have a great day! -Mrs. Coller Thanks for being such awesome students and rocking the literary terms last week. Don't forget that you are continuing to have quizzes on these! In fact, so are Mr. Cashman's classes, so don't be afraid to do some random self-quizzes in the hallway.
In case you need more information on those literary terms, you can always click here or take a look on the Literary Terms page of this website. Today for class, we spent time in the library. (Yay! The library is SO GREAT!!) You were looking for a book of your choice that you will read for an ORB (outside reading book). On OCTOBER 10, 2014, your ORB #1 assignment will be due. Don't forget! Here is the assignment for you to print and complete. I have given it to you in PDF form, so you should be able to print easily at school. If not, let me know. Happy reading!! -Mrs. Coller It has been a whirlwind week already!! This is what we have accomplished:
