Cyrano can multi-task. He writes a ballad and fights the Viscount at the same time. We also learned the second reason for Cyrano's hatred of Montfleury; he dared to look at the woman Cyrano loves in an dishonorable way. Le Bret discovers that Cyrano loves Roxanne, and Cyrano poetically tells him why with allusions to gods and goddesses and nature. However, Cyrano believes that Roxanne would never return his love because of his nose, but that doesn't stop Cyrano from dreaming about being with her. Roxanne's duenna then reveals that Roxanne would like to talk with Cyrano about a private matter. Cyrano's hopes might have just risen.
