Hello, All. As you may have figured out, I use this blog to keep you and I on the same page when it comes to classwork and general information about English 11R in Chittenango High School. On this site you will find: homework help, short stories, links that coordinate with units in ELA, and videos to help with the learning process.
Today in class: 1. The class labeled 5 TABS in their 3-ring binders: **6 Traits **Lit. Terms **The Crucible **Of Mice and Men **The Jungle 2. Students reviewed familiar literary terminology, such as protagonist, antagonist, plot, etc. If you were not in class today, test yourself to see how many you can remember. 3. I explained that there are SIX traits (characteristics) that are in good writing. We can remember them with the acronym VOICES. V = Voice O = Organization I = Ideas C = Conventions (Grammar/Spelling) E (Think of it as a SIDEWAYS W) = Word Choice S = Sentence Structure 4. Tomorrow I will not be here (sister-wedding stuff), so you will be looking for AUTHOR's PERSONALITY in a short story, "A&P". Have a great weekend!! -Mrs.
