Today we discussed what makes up a civilized society and determined that the boys are on their way to establishing one, but at the same time are still very immature and have a long way to go. Jack has been taking hunting very seriously and when he's on the prowl he tends to be very animalistic (which is important to remember!!!). He gets a mad look in his eyes when he's hunting or even thinking about hunting. Ralph on the other hand is very upset with all the boys. They decided that they needed to build shelters, but after a few minutes all the boys ran off to play, swim, or just lie around. Simon is the only boy that has actually been helping Ralph.
