Can you believe THAT HAPPENED?! I was shocked, myself!
For Sunday night's blog comment, please leave the following information: 1. What "scene" in this chapter did you find the most interesting? Why? 2. What question do you have for any of the characters involved in your chosen scene? What choices would you have made that were different from the decisions in the text? Have a great weekend!

1)The scene where the men, including Okonkwo, were taking Ikemefuna to his death was the scene that stood out in chapter seven. It was extremely sad and seemed quite unfair.

1) The scene in this chapter that I found most interesting was the one in which Ikemefuna and the men are walking to Mbaino, and Ikemefuna was thinking about seeing his family again, even though he was not actually going to see them again.

I found the scene where they killed Ikemefuna the most interesting. Namely the fact that Okonkwo *did* have trouble killing him, and only did it because he didn't want to be perceived as weak.

I thought the most interesting scene was when Ikemefuna had to finally be sacrificed. I would ask Okonkwo what exactly he was feeling at the time, because hea knew it was going to happen someday. If I was Okonkwo, I would argue that Ikemefuna shouldn't be killed, but I wouldn't go too far.

Hi Miss White, the scene I found most interesting in this chapter was when Okonkwo took part in the killing of Ikemefuna when he was told he shouldn't have to go through that by the eldest man in the clan. My question would be for Okonkwo and I would ask him why he helped kill him because he wouldn't have seemed weak like it said he would have felt if he didnt help in the text. If I was Okonkwo I would have never helped. I probably wouldnt have even gone with Ikemefuna and the men.

The scene where they killed Ikemafuna was interesting because it involved a lot of action. I would ask Okonkwo why he didn't try to help Ikemafuna escape ahead of time. I would have helped him escape.

Hi Miss White, it's Emily Gibbons. The scene that I found most interesting is the scene where the men of Umuofia killed Ikemefuna. The question I would ask is how Okonkwo could take part in the killing of a person that he considered a son. Is it that important not to look weak?

I found the scene where they were going up the hill interesting because they have a procedure on how to do it. Is it really necessary to kill him?

1. The scene I found most interesting was when the locus came because I would think that locus would be a bad thing and eat all the crops but instead the people of Umuofia ate them.

1) The scene i thought was the most intresting was when they decided to kill Ikemefuna. I thought this was intresting because Okonkow was told he didnt need to help but he did anyways because he didnt want to seem weak.

The most interesting scene for me was when Okonkwo killed Ikemefuna, because the elders had told him not to partake in his death. I would ask Okonkwo why he killed Ikemefuna and if I were him I would not have done that

I don't know how interresting it was, but I was very surrprised when Okonkwo killed Ikemefuna because he was just starting to fit into Okonkwo's house. I would ask Okonkwo if he was upset by this event. I wouldn't have killed him. I would have found a way to save him.

1. I found the scene where Ikemefuna is killed to be the most interesting because he was a main character, and Okonkwo assisted in his death.

1. The most interesting scene is the extension between the scenes from Okonkwo speaking with Ogbuefi Ezeudu until the death of Ikemefuna. I find these scenes interesting because Okonkwo is told to find a side of him that needs to show emotion between father and son, but is also forced to kill his adopted son, Ikemefuna, who believes he is simply going home to his real mother and sister.

1. I found the scene where Ikemefuna was getting attacked to be the most interesting. It was very detailed and you could imagine just what it was like if you were there. I also thought it was ironic that Okonkwo only helped Ikemefuna because he didn't wish to look weak.

1. The scene I found the most interesting was when they killed Ikeemfuna, and Okonkwo participated even though he was advised not to. I find that interesting since Owonkwo had become very attached to the boy, yet he himself added in his death.

I thought the most interesting scene in this chapter was when Ezeudu, the great and fearless warrior, wanted to talk to Okonkwo alone. He told him about the boy, Ikemefuna, that was going to be killed. This boy called Okonkwo,"father".I thought this was a very interesting scene because of the new things about Ikemefuna we had just found out and about what was going to happen to him. One question I have for Ezeudu, is what did Ikemefuna do to deserve to die? Also I would have made a different decision and Ikemefuna wouldn't have been sent away and wouldn't have died.

The scene that I found most interesting was the scene where Ogbuebi Ezeudu told Okonkwo that Ikemefuna had to be killed. I was very suprised that this happened. Ikemefuna had practically became apart of Umofia, and after three years, they decided to just kill him? I do not think they should have killed him like that. Okonkwo had become so close to him that he even called him his son.

I found it most interesting that after so many years of living with Okonkwo's family the village still decided to kill Ikemefuna. He didn't do anything wrong and even helped the village out after becoming accustomed to everything the village did. I would ask Ikemefuna why he actually thought he was going home. Although the book says that he seemed pretty sure that he would not see his mother ever again he still felt like he was actually going back to his own village. I think I would have noticed that something was different and wouldnt have been as trust worthy as Ikemefuna. Also, Nwoye should have tried harder to stand up for Ikemefuna rather than just cry about it and get upset.

The scene that I found most intersesting was when Okonkwo and the other men took Ikemefuna outside of Umoufia to kill him. I think this was interesting because Okonkwo had to help kill his own "son". My question would be to Okonkwo and I would ask him how he felt about killing Ikemefuna.

1. I found the scene where Okonkwo and the gang killed Ikemefuna the most interesting because the mood was very tense and Ikemefuna seemed to expect it to happen, so I was always thinking that he would try to stop it somehow.

I found the fact that they killed Ikemefunna was very interesting. I want to know why Okonkwo would kill him if he treated him like his son, or even better than he treated his son? If I was Okonkwo I wouldn't had cared if i was thought of as weak i would have saved him anyway because Ikemefunna was a good kid and did nothing wrong.

The scene in this chapter that I found the most intresting was when Ikemefuna was killed. I thought this was intresting because Okonkwo's realtionship had just started to grow closer with Ikemefuna and then he just kills him with almost no hesitation. If I could ask any character a question, I would ask Okonkwo why he did not try to defend his son from being sacraficed. If I were Okonkwo I would have never even thought about killing my son espically right after we were finally starting to get along. If I was Okonkwo I would have stood up for my son and told Ezeudu that I will not allow my son to be sacraficed. I still cannot beleive that Oknonkwo killed his own son.

The scene that was most interesting to me was the moment of shock once you realized what Okonkwo was really up to. It made me incrediably sad to see what was happining and how just a day earlier Ikemefuna thought of Okonkwo as his own father. If I could ask Okonkwo a question, I would ask him why on earth he is considered "the man" in his town. I feel as if this is slightly ironic because a real man would have been able to do the harder thing, and to stand up for what was right, but he did the exact opposite. Even though it would have been difficult to confront the other men by not killing Ikemefuna, I would have tried my best to save him. Letting Ikemefuna down and to think about what he did every night would have been aganizing and regretful. To save him instead of kill him would have been the hero move and thats what he should have done.

1. The scene that I found most interesting was when okonkwo, Ikemefuna and a few other men were "walking through the woods back to Mbaino," but really taking Ikemefuna to be sacrificed.
