It has been a whirlwind week already!! This is what we have accomplished:
Yesterday we had some fun with a "mentor text", but you didn't even know it! Shakespeare did some creative things with a few of his love sonnets. So, to introduce you to one of them, I asked you to brainstorm and determine some of the worst, most cheesy aspects of "love". You came up with some GREAT STUFF!
So today we are looking at Shakespeare's actual Sonnet and trying to write an actual poem that looks at love from a non-cheesy "original" angle.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR TONIGHT:
*Take the basic idea of "going green" and give it your own interesting angle. You can create a commercial, a poem, a paragraph, or you can come up with your own idea for promoting environmental consciousness. Use the IDEAS AND CONTENT RUBRIC to make sure that your final product has all the qualities that it should have.
